The Indian Trail Town Council voted unanimously to annex two separate parcels into town limits and assign Indian Trail zoning designations, council members said at their regular meeting.
The council approved annexation ordinance No. 173 and related zoning map amendment ZM20250052 for a roughly 3-acre parcel adjacent to the Union Grove/Unionville Indian Trail Road area, assigning it SF‑1 (the town’s single‑family district roughly equivalent to the county’s R‑20). Brandy (planning staff) told council the county zoning had been R‑20 and the town’s designation preserves the existing low/medium‑density pattern. The council opened and closed the public hearing on the request with no speakers and approved the annexation, zoning ordinance and a consistency statement unanimously.
The council also approved annexation ordinance No. 174 and zoning map amendment ZM20250042 for four McMillan Drive parcels (part of the Brandon Oaks/Bridal Oaks area) to correct a split‑jurisdiction issue created by a recent county recombination plat. According to planning staff, all four property owners agreed to annexation; the parcels were assigned SF‑2 to match the zoning of the adjacent dwellings. There was no public opposition at the hearing. Council voted unanimously to annex the parcels, adopt ordinance No. 416 (ZM20250042) and the related consistency finding.
Town staff said the approvals formalize municipal responsibility for services and align the parcels’ zoning with the surrounding subdivision. There were no recorded amendments or conditions attached to either motion.

Council members and staff said the actions are administrative steps required when territory comes inside town limits and that the zoning choices were selected to be consistent with the town’s comprehensive plan.
