Town of Sellersburg officials approved minutes from their Sept. 15, 2025, meeting, voted to retain the town's legal counsel, and again tabled a developer's subdivision resubmission during a brief meeting.
The board voted, by voice, to approve the minutes of the Sept. 15, 2025, meeting. Members then heard an old-business item identified on the agenda as 2025-08PE-04, a resubmission from Thomas Hill Collective LLC for the Saint Joe Place subdivision at 5404 (Evansville mailing address listed on the agenda). The applicant sought to revise the proposal from seven lots to four lots; members moved and seconded a motion to table the item and voted to table the matter until the next regular meeting so outstanding zoning appeals and related materials can be resolved or supplemented.
During communications, members noted that town attorney Alex Gaddis is changing firms and provided the board with a letter attached to the meeting materials. Members made and seconded a motion to retain Gaddis's services under his new firm; the motion passed by voice vote. There was no recorded opposition. No other legal actions or amendments were announced during the meeting.
The meeting record shows three formal outcomes: approval of the Sept. 15 minutes; tabling of agenda item 2025-08PE-04 (Saint Joe Place subdivision, Thomas Hill Collective LLC) until next month; and retention of town attorney Alex Gaddis through his new firm. The transcript indicates those votes were taken by voice and that two regular members were absent and one seat remains vacant. The meeting did not produce a final decision on the subdivision; the item will return to the agenda for further consideration.
Minutes, letters, and the applicant's resubmission materials referenced at the meeting were included in the meeting packet. Staff or the applicant will need to provide updated zoning-appeal documentation and any requested supplemental plans or materials before the board takes final action on the subdivision.
