Northampton County officials and members of the county Election Commission discussed the county's newly established satellite election office at the Fowler Center and broader plans to add satellite sites to reduce long lines experienced during the 2024 election.
Sharon Gavin Levy, chair of the Northampton County Election Commission, said the commission reviewed problems at polling places after last year's election and supported creating satellite offices to give residents additional opportunities to vote. “This country ensures everybody the opportunity to vote,” Levy said, describing the commission's motivation as preventing voters from losing the chance to cast ballots because of long waits.
