Volunteers who support day trips must be registered through the district’s Raptor screening system or already be registered volunteers. Staff told the board the Raptor check is quick: one board member asked whether parents should pre‑register in advance of a trip, and staff replied the screening usually takes only a couple of minutes and can be completed on short notice.
The district said the addendum will be posted with the regulation; staff said the addendum is intended to reduce confusion about which kinds of trips require central approval and which are managed at the school level.
