Marietta’s special call meeting opened with presentation and approval of a revised Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the School Resource Officer (SRO) program. A school‑system representative told council the school board had reviewed and signed the revised MOU at its prior meeting and that there were no changes from the version shown to council in the prior month.
Staff pointed council to the cost breakdown in the packet; the table on page 11 shows a five‑year cost allocation per SRO, and pages 12–13 contain line‑item breakdowns tied to the board’s annual allocation. Staff reiterated the cost‑sharing arrangement: the school system pays 70 percent of SRO costs for time spent in school session and the city pays the remaining 30 percent.
Council asked whether the school board had formally signed the document; staff confirmed the school board signed it on the 17th. The mayor asked for a motion to approve; council moved, seconded and approved the MOU by voice vote. Committee minutes show the motion carried.
