Votes at a glance: Menomonee Falls board approves plats, contracts and lease termination on Aug. 18

The Village of Menomonee Falls board took a series of routine approvals and project steps during its Aug. 18 meeting. All motions below passed by voice vote unless otherwise noted.

Fox River Falls final plat The board adopted a resolution approving the final plat of Fox River Falls Addition No. 3, subject to compliance with 23 conditions recommended by the Planning Commission. The Planning Commission reviewed and passed the plat on Aug. 5. The board voted to approve the resolution unanimously.

Consent agenda The board approved the consent agenda, which included bill approval for July 2025 (amounts listed in the meeting packet) and an unenclosed premise permit application for American Legion Post 382 for a Sep. 13, 2025 event. The consent agenda passed unanimously.

Lease termination with the School District of Menomonee Falls Trustees approved an agreement to terminate a lease between the village and the School District of Menomonee Falls. The board approved a $250,000 payment to the school district to terminate the lease; the agreement allows the district to continue using the boardroom twice weekly and a basement storage space, and sets the lease termination effective June 2026 with the buyout payment in 2025. The motion passed unanimously.

Engineering and architectural contracts for public safety and village hall projects - The board approved a proposal from R.E. Smith for surveying and site civil design work for the Public Safety Building Training Center project (project no. 20023) in an estimated amount of $67,800. R.E. Smith will provide surveying, site design, stormwater design, retaining wall, site utilities, landscaping and permitting and will coordinate with the project architect. - The board approved a proposal with R.A. Smith Inc. for site/civil design services for the Village Hall/Police Department modernization and expansion (project no. 20022) in an estimated amount of $85,900. - The board approved an agreement for architectural services with FGM Architects (FGM G M Architects Inc.) for both project no. 20022 (Village Hall/Police modernization and expansion) and project no. 20023 (Public Safety Building Training Center). The agreement includes changes to Article 11 (compensation): percentage fees and schematic/design development phase percentages were adjusted during prior committee review, and contract compensation caps were added for the two projects as reflected in the meeting documents. The motion passed unanimously.

Meeting schedule Trustee Matt Hayes moved and the board approved canceling the Monday, Sept. 1, 2025 village board meeting due to the Labor Day holiday.

Adjournment The board adjourned its Aug. 18 meeting by unanimous voice vote.
