The Vacaville City Council on Aug. 12 adopted the city's inaugural Arts and Culture Master Plan, revised the Arts Advisory Committee policy, and approved a new public-art program policy, the council said during a vote after presentations from city staff and consultants.
Recreation Manager Melody Land presented the plan alongside Josh Lapp of Designing Local, the consulting firm that led public engagement. Land told the council the plan resulted from 16 months of community outreach, workshops in each council district, a digital survey and tabling at city events, and concluded with a broad set of recommendations for facilities, programming, public art and governance.
