At its Aug. 4 meeting the Millbrae Planning Commission elected Maureen Davis as chair and Commissioner Choi as vice chair and approved previous meeting minutes.
Commissioner Quigg nominated Maureen Davis to serve as the commission’s chair for the 2025–26 fiscal year and Commissioner Choi seconded the nomination. The motion to have Davis assume the chair immediately passed on a roll-call vote of 5-0; commissioners present recorded votes in favor.
The commission then nominated Commissioner Choi as vice chair; the motion was seconded and passed 5-0.
The commission moved to approve minutes from the May 19 meeting. The motion to approve the May 19 minutes passed 4-0-1, with Commissioner Wong recorded as outstanding for that vote.
Staff updates and community announcements followed. Planning Manager Roscoe Mata said the next planning commission meeting will be Aug. 18 and listed an upcoming second-story addition single-family item. Mata announced internal staffing changes: Jennifer Lim was promoted to associate planner, senior planner Nestor Guevara has left the city, and consultants from CSG and Permanent Planning Partners will support planning staff in the interim. The commission and staff also noted several community events, including National Night Out, a Beats & Brews event on Aug. 21, a Mills Estate Park workshop and the Art and Wine Festival over Labor Day weekend; the volunteer-of-the-year awards event was scheduled for Oct. 17 at Green Hills.
