Board updates four 6000-series policies, including new data-breach policy

Papillion La Vista Community Schools trustees voted Aug. 4 to update four district policies in the 6000 series.
Dr. Siri presented the staff-recommended updates. The board approved changes that add a legislative reference to the parent-involvement policy (Policy 6404), update accreditation language to reflect the Nebraska Department of Education SIP process (Policy 6702), eliminate the district's driver's education policy because that instruction is now contracted through ESU (Policy 6203), and add a new data-breach policy (Policy 6901). The board asked staff to develop procedures to accompany the new data-breach policy.
A motion to adopt the four policy changes passed on a roll-call vote. No substantive amendments were made during the meeting.
