The agreement also includes an anticipated pledge related to the 2027 season.
Councilmembers and staff described the amended agreement as intended to promote sustainability for the orchestra while encouraging the group to secure broader philanthropic and corporate support. Council adopted the amended ordinance after motions to amend and suspend rules; roll-call votes were recorded as unanimous.
Council members praised the orchestra’s leadership and noted the city’s interest in helping the symphony grow long-term support beyond municipal sponsorship.
