A commissioner said price was not the only consideration, noting delivery and compatibility with existing implements.
Staff confirmed the purchase would come from the landfill enterprise fund and that money was budgeted for either option. Commissioners discussed the typical procurement expectation that the lowest bidder is usually awarded projects but acknowledged that local discretion and operational needs can justify choosing a higher-priced offer.
No formal award was recorded in the workshop; commissioners indicated they would make a final decision at the county meeting the following day.
