Grand Island board approves sewer bond resolutions, multiple site plans and permit renewals

The Town Board of Grand Island on Aug. 19 adopted a series of bond resolutions and approved professional service agreements to fund and advance multiple sewer-district capital projects, while also approving several site plans and renewing routine special-use permits.

Board members voted on a set of orders and bond resolutions tied to the Consolidated Sewer District, including actions described in the meeting as Lift Station 8 improvements and a wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) pump replacement. The board also authorized the town supervisor to sign professional service agreements for the Lift Station 8 upgrades (job no. 10-243) and the WWTP pump replacement (job no. M-247).

The board approved multiple planning and zoning items that had come forward with planning-board recommendations. Those included site-plan approvals for projects on Whitehaven Road and a storage-building site on Baseline Road, and the planning board's recommendation to approve a Thermo Fisher Scientific site modification (moving chillers from the roof to ground-level equipment) with conditions.
