Denton County commissioners unanimously appoint Paul Slow, reappoint Ron Marchant to MHMR board

DENTON COUNTY, Texas — The Denton County Commissioners Court on Aug. 12, 2025, voted unanimously to appoint Paul Slow to the Denton County Mental Health Mental Retardation (MHMR) Board of Trustees and to reappoint Ron Marchant to a judge-appointed seat.
The court reconvened from executive session and moved to item 13(c) on the agenda, the appointments to the MHMR board. Commissioner Falconer made the motion to appoint Paul Slow; Commissioner Mitchell seconded. The court chair called for the question and the motion carried unanimously.
Following the first appointment, the court moved to reappoint Ron Marchant to a judge-appointed position on the board. The motion to reappoint was made and Commissioner Williams seconded. The court again voted unanimously to approve the reappointment.
No other discussion or public testimony on the nominations was recorded during the appointments portion of the meeting. The court returned to other agenda business after the votes.
