Lincoln County authorizes 2025–26 labor agreement with Fraternal Order of Police

The Lincoln County Board of Commissioners voted to authorize Chair Mikayla Mueller to sign the 2025–2026 labor agreement with Fraternal Order of Police Local 26, following committee negotiations that county officials described as productive.
Commissioners said the local FOP negotiated in good faith and that the agreement is a one-year contract. ‘‘They were very amicable to work with,’’ one commissioner said, and committee members said most contract language remains unchanged with a few updated provisions. The county emphasized the agreement is for a single year and that negotiations will resume in 2026.
Commissioner comments noted the contract follows prior practice; historically the county has sought two-year agreements but the parties agreed to a one-year term this cycle. The board approved the motion to authorize the chair to execute the agreement and recorded a roll-call approval.
No changes to county policy were described in detail during the meeting; commissioners said the agreement contains a few updated provisions but no ‘‘earth-shaking’’ changes. The county will publish the executed agreement as required by applicable procedures.
