County approves extension request for 2023 all‑hazard mitigation grant review

Bonner County commissioners approved an extension to the 2023 All‑Hazard Mitigation Grant so the Idaho Office of Emergency Management (IOEM) can complete review of the county’s updated All‑Hazard Mitigation Plan.
Cameron Lacombe of Bonner County Emergency Management told the board the IOEM issued a grant adjustment notice requesting the extension through Dec. 1, 2025, to allow time for state review of the updated mitigation plan the county submitted. Lacombe said the county tracked in‑kind match (staff hours and GIS mapping effort) and that those in‑kind contributions have met or exceeded the required match.
The board voted to approve the extension and allow the chair to sign administratively. Commissioners asked clarifying questions about the plan’s scope — Lacombe said the five‑year update process involved outreach to cities and districts, hazard identification and use of a consultant — and approved the administrative signature.
