The Water Quality Board on an unscheduled meeting date heard a presentation from John Pike about the Bluegrass Watershed Summit and a newly formed coalition, Waterways Lex, intended to coordinate volunteer watershed work across Fayette County.
Pike, a water resources engineer with Palmer Engineering and a volunteer with Hickman Creek Conservancy, said about 75 people attended the summit and that attendees included local watershed volunteer groups, university forestry staff and consultants.
