Residents affected by the Ontario–Lincoln infrastructure project urged the Corona City Council on the consent calendar to maintain regular communication and to explain construction impacts, including retaining walls, sewer connections and driveway access.
A councilmember pulled the consent-item following public comment. Joe Morgan, a resident who attended earlier public meetings, said residents received little follow-up after an initial spring briefing and remain uncertain about when construction will occur and how their properties will be affected. “It's a long time to have a cudgel hanging over you and hanging over your house,” Morgan said.
Council members and staff agreed that the concerns were reasonable. Staff told the council that as design work finalizes they will conduct door‑to‑door outreach, hold meetings with affected residents and provide regular updates by e‑mail or other means to answer questions about construction timing, retaining walls, driveway access and property impacts.
The consent calendar item was approved with the request that staff maintain ongoing contact with the affected households. The council emphasized the importance of direct resident outreach during design and construction planning.
