Pharr EDC presents cross-border business outreach, $4.5M SRS warehouse groundbreaking and fall industry events

Diana McKinney, the Pharr EDC foundation director, told the Pharr Economic Development Corporation board that the agency hosted a delegation from the state of Guanajuato and highlighted a slate of recent and upcoming events aimed at attracting investment to Pharr.
McKinney said the Guanajuato delegation — roughly 30 government officials, growers and entrepreneurs — visited the Pharr Global Business Hub on July 31 to learn about cross‑border commercial opportunities, including interest in dry and cold warehouse space and other local logistics assets. She listed the Pharr International Bridge, the Greater Pharr Chamber of Commerce and the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) as key partners in the visit.
The board was also shown recaps of three recent statewide and local gatherings. McKinney said Pharr hosted a stop for the governor’s Small Business Summit on Aug. 7 that connected Texas small business owners with state and federal partners, and that the Pharr commercial and investment summit on Aug. 14 drew about 130 investors, developers and property owners.
Looking ahead, McKinney announced the SRS warehouse groundbreaking is scheduled for Sept. 4 at 10 a.m. at 300 West Eldora in Pharr. She said the project is a $4,500,000 warehouse development and invited community leaders and stakeholders to the ceremony.
Other events McKinney listed include the Pharr EDC Foundation’s fourth annual golf classic on Sept. 13 at Tierra Del Sol Golf Course (registration 7:30–8:30 a.m.; tee time 8:45 a.m.), the Industrial Warehouse Summit No. 5 on Oct. 7 (8:30 a.m.–1 p.m.) at the Pharr Development and Resource Center, 850 West Decker Road, and the fifth annual Manufacturing Day on Oct. 8 (9 a.m.–noon) at the same location aimed at local high school students. McKinney said the warehouse summit is free but requires registration and provided a contact number for more information: (956) 402-4332.
McKinney framed the outreach and events as part of a coordinated effort to market Pharr’s site‑selection advantages, connect businesses to local permitting and resources, and build relationships that can speed investment. She emphasized that the Global Business Hub and partner agencies can help with resource navigation, site selection and access to capital.
