Rick Stolle delivered the July 4 report, thanking volunteers, sponsors, city departments, police and fire personnel for their work supporting the annual Stars Panel Spectacular and associated events.
Stolle described the event as having many moving parts and credited partners and volunteers for its execution. He said the city has supported the event financially and through staff assistance and cited specific components: a race with over 400 participants, a car show, fishing derby, spike-ball tournament and a concert band. He noted that post-event cleanup on July 5 involves additional volunteers and partner organizations, including Lifewise.
Stolle said, "The fourth is not a problem. The fifth is where our challenges" when describing post-event cleanup, and previewed plans for the July 4, 2026 celebration, noting the federal holiday will fall on Saturday and the community will mark the country's 250th anniversary that year.
Councilors responded with appreciation for event organizers and volunteers and encouraged public participation in upcoming community events and hiring fairs related to city facilities. No formal council action was recorded in the July 4 report segment.
