Lake Elsinore proclaims Constitution Week, National Preparedness Month and recognizes CHP partnership

The Lake Elsinore City Council on Sept. 9, 2025 issued a proclamation recognizing Constitution Week and a separate proclamation designating September 2025 as National Preparedness Month.

Mayor Tisdale read the text of the proclamations, noting the 230th anniversary of the U.S. Constitution and urging residents to review preparedness guidance. The National Preparedness Month proclamation referenced FEMA's Ready Campaign and the 2025 national theme "preparedness starts at home," phrases that appeared in the proclamation read aloud.

Representatives of the California Highway Patrol and allied emergency partners accepted the recognition and thanked the council for the partnership. An Assistant Chief from the CHP's Riverside area said the agency values the city's collaboration on preparedness exercises and shared policing responsibilities in unincorporated areas.

Joyce, representing the Lucennial Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, accepted the Constitution Week proclamation and outlined the chapter's recent historic site plaque awards for local sites including the cultural center, the Santa Fe Train Station, the Tank House, the Mary McDonald gazebo and the Elsinore Valley Cemetery.

Council members encouraged residents to use resources such as ready.org and to attend local preparedness events. The mayor and staff highlighted the city's annual emergency preparedness fair as an opportunity for residents to learn about creating emergency plans.

Ending: The council closed the proclamation presentations with thanks to the CHP and community organizations and moved into the business portion of the meeting.
