The Coffee County Policy and Procedure Committee voted on Aug. 18 to approve the county’s full-commission meeting dates for 2026 and the 2026 county holiday schedule.
Committee members agreed the schedule would be forwarded to the mayor’s office and placed on the full commission agenda for final acknowledgement. Dennis Hunt was identified as the official who will sign off before the items go to the full commission.
On the meeting-date item, committee members noted past midyear adjustments to holiday scheduling around Christmas and verified that the proposed 2026 dates do not fall on observed holidays. The committee used an item-by-item sign-off procedure to document approval.
A motion to approve the full-commission meeting dates for 2026 was moved on the record and seconded; members present voted in favor. A separate motion to approve the 2026 county holidays was moved by Miss Jones and seconded by Mr. Miller; members present voted in favor and the motions were recorded as approved.
Both approvals carry forward to the full commission for final consideration and scheduling; the committee’s secretary indicated she will prepare the forms and forward them to the mayor’s office for placement on the agenda.
