The Tangipahoa Parish Council unanimously approved an administrative plan for the Housing Choice Voucher Program that staff said is required under recent HUD guidance and the Housing Opportunity Through Modernization Act (HATMA).
Miss Mabry, presenting for parish housing staff, told the council the plan implements HUD's new rules effective July 1, 2025, and that revisions address legal jurisdiction, waiting-list procedures (section 102104), income limits and changes to annual and interim recertification processes. Council members asked for clarification, and staff said the plan must be adopted for the parish to participate in the updated HCV requirements.
The motion to adopt the administrative plan passed on a unanimous roll call (10-0). The plan will take effect consistent with HUD timelines and the documentation submitted with the resolution.
