DeKalb Operations Committee ratifies operational and performance assessment, directs departmental follow-up

Commissioner Ted Terry said the intention was that each committee would take "their pieces of that report" and hear departments' implementation plans, with departments given roughly 60 to 90 days for feedback.
Committee members discussed scheduling confidential or individual briefings with the consultant; staff offered dates and virtual options. Committee members and staff also discussed hiring or engaging a change-management firm to support implementation and said the CEO intends the report not to "simply sit" but to assign resources to evaluate and implement findings deemed appropriate.
Action: The committee moved and seconded a motion to approve adoption of the operational and performance assessment. The motion carried on an affirmative voice vote. The motion and vote record do not list named movers or a roll-call tally in the transcript.
The committee directed that implementation planning be coordinated across committees so the work aligns with preparation of the 2026 budget and so departments evaluated in the assessment can present their plans in the committee structure.
