Hayward airport reports smoother turf, delayed snow-removal equipment and new front-line staffing

Airport staff said the waivers could be signed soon; after that, equipment delivery would be about a 10-month lead time, meaning the earliest likely availability is next winter. The airport plans to retain existing equipment as backups and is evaluating costs related to outgoing equipment.
The manager reported recent transient traffic, including several single-engine and a few business jets, and said a helicopter flew low into the Hayward area performing power-line inspections. He also said the FBO contracts were wrapped up recently and that some final documents remain to be resolved.
