The Paradise Valley Unified School District governing board on Aug. 7 unanimously accepted a set of gifts and donations the district highlighted for the start of the school year.
Noted donations included $1,000 from Dorito Partners to support student rewards at Echo Mountain Intermediate; $2,790 from the PV Schools Education Foundation to Paradise Valley High School for summer school for JAG students; $4,000 from the Musical Instrument Museum to the PV Fine Arts department for bus expenses for MIM field trips; and a distribution exceeding $15,000 from the Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust for resources supporting students in need across multiple schools (Cactus View Elementary, Campobello Elementary, Eagle Ridge, Echo Mountain Primary, Hidden Hills, Indian Bend, Larkspur and Palomino Primary). The board thanked donors and accepted the gifts by unanimous vote.
