Montgomery County Commission approves consent agenda, moves forward on contracts and grants

The Montgomery County Commission approved most items on the consent agenda at its regular meeting, adopting agreements, appropriations and grant applications and postponing one item for additional review.

The vote-through agenda included approval of minutes from the Oct. 7, 2025 regular meeting; accounts payable and payroll checks; a series of insurance renewals (medical stop-loss, property/casualty and workers’ compensation); multiple intergovernmental and vendor agreements; appropriations to agencies and education; and grant applications including two Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) applications. The commission approved a sublease between the Alabama Department of Public Health and Montgomery Public Schools and approved an owner–architect agreement with Latham McKee Architects for exterior renovation of the former Pardons and Parole building at 350 Adams Avenue. Commissioners also approved a resolution supporting the Alabama Simplified Seller Use Tax Remittance Act.

Most motions were moved and seconded on the record with the chair calling "motion carries"; most items were approved with no further public discussion. Item number 11 was postponed so all commissioners could review proposed language changes and the county could post the amended language to the website for public review.
