He said the withdrawal deadline is the Tuesday following that filing deadline (Sept. 23), election day is Nov. 4 and that the official canvas of results for this multi-county district is scheduled for Nov. 17; the board's organizational meeting to swear in new members will occur Nov. 20.
Dr. Hoele told the board that Whitney Smith McIntosh notified the district she will move out of the district, creating a vacancy the board must fill within 30 days under Iowa Code. He said the district will publish notice and the board will determine appointment details and vote either at the Sept. 18 or Oct. 2 meeting; the appointee would serve until the Nov. 4 election.
Board members had no additional questions on the schedule at the time of the presentation.
