Board members directed that the required standard be that the operator maintain the road “up to county standards,” and asked staff to propose bond amounts and any additional enforcement language before returning the item at the board’s Sept. 15 meeting.
County staff noted the road is a public gravel road used by limited property owners; planning minutes indicate only one house is on the road and the adjoining landowner uses alternate access. Supervisors said the agreement should allow the county to suspend operations if maintenance or traffic control obligations are not met.
No vote on the substance of the maintenance agreement occurred; the board approved a motion to postpone the item to the second meeting in September and directed staff to add a bond definition and standards language to the proposed agreement.
