The commission then opened nominations for vice chair; after nominations and a brief exchange the commission elected David Bingham as vice chair. The vote for vice chair included one recorded abstention; the motion carried.
On a separate action, the commission voted to forward the 2025 California International Airshow permit to the Salinas City Council for approval. A commissioner moved to "use the recommended motion as it's written," and another commissioner seconded. The vote carried.
