Committee chair Mr. Cantrell read an updated member list that included Joseph Brannon, Cecil Calhoun, Adrian Chester, Will Clark, Dr. Joe Coley, Tamara Edwards, Ricky Harrell, Lisa Jenkins, Wanda Jenkins Davis, Pauline Johnson, Benny Neeworth, Betsy Rich Reid, Alton Russell, Eva Smith, Gloria Stroud, Olive Bridal Kendall and others. The committee chair thanked volunteers for serving.
Several board members raised procedural questions about how citizen members are selected and how long members serve. Board members asked staff to resend the committee roster with an indication of which district each volunteer lives in and to note whether the current roster represents reappointments or newly nominated citizens. One board member said the district should verify each member’s attendance history and whether nominees remain in the district following recent redistricting.
