County Mayor Davis reported at the Oct. 13 work session that SK Foods held a grand opening and represents a major new employer in Bradley County.
"It was a great morning for a grand opening at SK Food this morning. A new corporate citizen in our community, $200,000,000 investment's been completed, and they're on their way to their full employment. I think they've got 200 and some employees already," Mayor Davis said.
Several commissioners and Chamber representatives echoed praise for the facility and thanked the Chamber and economic development partners for recruiting the project. Commissioner Slater noted the governor attended the event; Commissioner Rogers thanked Chamber staff and company representatives for their work in bringing the facility to the county.
No formal county action was taken at the work session related to the SK Foods opening; the mayor's report served as an informational update.
