Cuyahoga County Council unanimously confirmed Anthony W. Scott as director of the county's Department of Housing and Community Development on Aug. 5, and the executive administered the oath during the regular meeting.
County Executive Chris Ronain introduced Scott's swearing-in, thanked council for the unanimous confirmation and noted Scott's prior public-service experience, including his military service. Council President Blaine Griffin and other members joined the meeting for the ceremony. Scott briefly addressed the chamber and thanked his family, county leadership and former colleagues; he said he would begin work immediately to advance housing opportunities and affordable housing initiatives.
Scott was confirmed by a recorded resolution (Resolution 20250235) and sworn into office at the meeting. Council and executive remarks during the ceremony highlighted the county's housing portfolio and the planned work ahead.
