A district presenter explained the rating uses 21 indicators drawn from audits, PEIMS data and other financial records; a passing score is 70 out of 100. The presenter said the district lost points under the rating's debt indicator because of bond debt but gained full points on an indicator measuring the administrative-to-instructional staff ratio after reducing administrative staffing relative to the state threshold.
On community fundraising, the Plainview Education Foundation's report said the gala had a "huge turnout" and raised $59,000, nearly double what the foundation had raised previously. Foundation leaders and other local donors, including a reported $3,000 contribution from the Plan B Area Endowment Association for Gentex awards, were thanked by trustees.
Why it matters
