Anderson City Board of Public Works approves Park Road inspection contract, awards five demolitions and $4.3 million in claims

ANDERSON, Ind. — The Anderson City Board of Public Works on Aug. 5 approved an inspection services contract for the Park Road widening project, awarded five demolition contracts to two contractors and approved claims totaling $4,301,777.70.
Chief Engineer House told the board the city engineering department recommended the board approve an inspection services agreement with Lochmuller Group for the widening of Park Road from 50 Third to 60 Seventh Street. A board member moved to approve the agreement and the board approved it by voice vote after a second. Chief Engineer House said the contract amount is “not to exceed $99,000.”
The board also voted to award demolition contracts for five properties. Development staff member Miss Simmons presented bids and recommended awarding two demolitions to Shawyer Solutions: 1327 Central Avenue for $11,233 and 2111 McKinley Street for $7,147. The board approved the awards by motion and voice vote.
Miss Simmons then presented three lowest responsive bids recommended for award to Yarberry: 806 and 806½ East 20th Street for $8,500, 2400 Fletcher Street for $6,500 and 2828 Jackson Street for $6,000. The board approved those awards by motion and voice vote.
Board members approved claims submitted by Miss Johnson covering multiple city funds: Civil City $2,224,193.92; Light and Power $356,261.36; Water Department $542,445.18; Water Pollution $1,041,001.73; and Stormwater $137,875.60, for a total of $4,301,777.70. A board member moved to approve the claims, a second was made, and the board approved them by voice vote.
Most votes at the meeting were conducted by voice; individual roll-call vote counts or names associated with the yea votes were not recorded in the meeting transcript. No ordinances, resolutions or appeals were taken up during the recorded portion of the meeting. The board adjourned at about 1:33 p.m.
