Commissioners reviewed three contractor quotes for painting the county chapel and agreed to delay awarding the contract until staff meets with contractors to clarify scopes and pricing.
Rick, a maintenance department representative, told commissioners one quote omitted plastering work, a second lacked sufficient detail, and a third was detailed. He said the county planned to ask the less-detailed bidder to provide a more itemized scope and to host an on-site review. One bidder's price was said to be valid through Sept. 27.
The board discussed holding an executive session Friday morning for a related personnel or contract matter (the session had not yet been advertised) and agreed to continue the meeting at 10 a.m. Friday for the single item: awarding the painting contract. A motion to continue the meeting until 10 a.m. Friday for that item was seconded and carried by voice vote.
No contractor was selected at the meeting. Staff were directed to secure a revised, detailed bid and arrange an on-site review with the contractors before the continuation.
