The applicant, Faustino Mancha, presented the proposal in person and said the owner sought a more prominent front entrance.
Commissioners agreed there is room for design refinement and several urged the applicant to request a DRC site visit to explore alternatives that work with the building's mid-century characteristics. Commissioner Group noted the proposal "is changing completely the front of the facade," and suggested informal DRC consultation before a final submittal. The commission ultimately approved the staff recommendations (which included stipulations) and recorded the motion on roll call.
