Commissioners hear large annual software invoice, county match and warnings about state budget risks to services

County finance staff told commissioners Sept. 3 that the county received two invoices requiring approval: a $14,171.62 county match for drug-and-alcohol services covering Jan. 1–June 30, 2025, and an annual software invoice from Tyler Technologies for $135,993.19 covering Oct. 2025–Sept. 2026.

Britney, a county staff member, reported two notifications: a final remediation report submitted to the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection for the Lombardo HFO site in Central Borough indicating remediation activities have retained compliance with statewide standards; and notice from Dewberry and Newyears Inc., on behalf of PennDOT, of an intent to file for a PA DEP Act 14 permit for the Pine Creek Bridge replacement project.

During commissioner comments, Commissioner Sealy urged the state House, state Senate and the governor to reach agreement on the state budget, warning that delayed passage is already causing other counties and local providers to consider or enact cuts. Sealy said some county services and pass-through funding depend on state action and gave the example of a local literacy council that recently furloughed staff because of funding shortfalls. Commissioner Schott had no additional comments.
