Clerk reported two applicants had been interviewed: Denise Nelson and Joshua Gold. Council members praised both candidates’ qualifications and volunteer experience; several members said both applicants would serve well but nominated Denise Nelson based on her demonstrated volunteer organization experience. The council approved the appointment by roll call vote.
The appointment fills a commission seat that will expire June 30, 2027. Council members encouraged the new commissioner to participate in ongoing efforts to broaden programming and community involvement in parks and recreation.
