Five Essentials survey: Martin County shows district-wide neutral rating, gains in family involvement and collaborative teaching

Presenters said the top three areas of improvement were involved families, collaborative teachers and effective leaders. Platt emphasized the district's investments in instructional leadership, principal labs and school-based professional learning plans as key drivers of gains.
During board discussion, a member asked whether the "involved families" metric reflected parent responses or teacher perceptions. Presenters clarified that the slide in question reported teacher perception, and they offered to provide school-by-school breakdowns to the board.
Presenters said the district will transition to a new stakeholder-experience survey (Studer framework) to better align strategic planning, scorecards and employee/student/parent engagement measures.
Ending: Staff said they will provide further school-level breakdowns on request and will implement the new survey framework in coming cycles to align with district goals.
