Warden announces resignation; Delaware County leaders praise facility progress

Board members responded with extended remarks thanking the warden for leading a cultural change at the formerly private facility, overseeing capital projects and expanding programming. Several board members said the facility population had dropped substantially during her tenure and praised partnerships such as the New Leash on Life program, educational accomplishments and broader reentry efforts.
The warden identified the facility’s employees as a central reason for recent progress and pledged to support a transparent transition. No personnel appointment or successor was named at the meeting.
The board proceeded to the meeting’s remaining agenda items after the tributes and the warden turned routine business over to Deputy Warden Valley.
