WHEAT RIDGE, Colo. — The Wheat Ridge City Council on Aug. 11 unanimously approved two intergovernmental agreements, scheduled public hearings on a proposed charter amendment and two property sales and voted to move into an executive session on a pending contract claim.
The council approved Resolution 37-2025, an intergovernmental agreement with the Colorado Department of Transportation establishing long-term maintenance responsibilities for a sidewalk on the west side of Wadsworth Boulevard between 30th and 35th avenues. The council also approved Resolution 38-2025, authorizing city officials to execute an intergovernmental agreement with Jefferson County regarding administration of the coordinated election to be held Nov. 4, 2025; the documents must be forwarded to Jefferson County by Aug. 26, 2025.
Council members then set public hearings on three council bills: Council Bill 15-2025 would place a charter amendment on the Nov. 4, 2025 ballot to eliminate the elected city clerk and elected city treasurer; Council…
