Fort Bend County Judge KP Georgi on Tuesday, July 22, recapped actions taken by the commissioners court, including a proclamation for Emergency Medical Task Force 6, several consent-agenda approvals, and appointments to county offices and advisory bodies.
Georgi said the court presented a proclamation recognizing EMTF 6 for its recent deployment to provide aid during catastrophic flooding in the Hill Country. “I was honored to present a proclamation to the emergency medical task force team, EMTF 6, who recently deployed in response to the catastrophic flooding in Hill Country,” Georgi said.
The judge said the court approved multiple items on its consent agenda. Those approvals included the reappointment of John Robson to the Texana central board of trustees and a new grant agreement with the U.S. Department of Transportation to support the county public transportation system.
Georgi also reported the sheriff’s office received a grant “over $26,000” from the Office of the Governor to fund a Project Safe Neighborhood analyst at no cost to the county. The judge noted the medical examiner’s office welcomed four new volunteers and that the court officially appointed a chair and members to the Citizen Redistricting Advisory Committee.
The court approved a voter precinct adjustment moving voters from Precinct 2009 into Precinct 3009. Georgi also announced the selection of Anna Martinez as the county’s new director of community development, saying she “brings a wealth of experience and a heart for service.”
Georgi closed by encouraging residents to follow county updates on social media and to visit fortbendcountytx.gov for meeting information and resources.
