Council voted to suspend rules and adopt the measure so the city can meet the grant schedule. A staff member said the county had already approved a related resolution and the city’s timely acceptance was needed to secure the funds.
Councilors said the project will require coordination with Mid Ohio Regional Planning and possibly water-line work as part of the reconstruction. The council approved the measure with an emergency clause so the city could proceed to advertise and engineer the project in time for construction season planning.
