Mayor: Madison City to introduce updated ADA transition plan for public comment at city council

Mayor announced at the Sept. 2 Board of Public Works and Safety meeting that the Madison City Council will introduce the updated self-evaluation of the city's Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) transition plan for public comment at its meeting that evening.
The mayor said Chris Hale will present the document to council and that the plan — described as 177 pages — is available for review at City Hall and will be posted on the city website for public comment. The mayor described the plan as a comprehensive assessment covering facilities and sidewalks and said the city has used a sidewalk asset management plan developed about four years ago to guide investments.
The mayor and board encouraged residents to review the plan and to provide feedback through the channels described by council; no formal action on the ADA plan was taken by the Board of Public Works and Safety during the Sept. 2 meeting.
The city emphasized the public-review period and availability of the plan as the next step in the ADA transition planning process.
