Arts Place presents completed regional arts and culture master plan funded by NEA Our Town grant

Caroline Carducci, director of Arts Place, told the Blackford County Commissioners the regional arts and culture master plan funded by the National Endowment for the Arts Our Town grant is complete and available at myartsplace.org.
Carducci said the plan—one of three completed under the grant—covers Blackford County, Jay County and portions of nearby counties and establishes a 10-year implementation horizon. She said Purdue Extension and Arts Place will co-lead implementation and that leadership teams and resource committees will form to pursue funding and carry out projects.
Carducci described the grant timeline: the application was prepared in 2022, the grant period ran 2023 through June 2025, and the consultants recommended the two organizations to co-lead to provide continuity if one partner needs to step back. She said the community’s enthusiasm should speed implementation but that funding will likely be the longest phase of the plan.
When asked how progress will be communicated to commissioners, Carducci said a resource team will develop a public communications plan and that Arts Place and partners will share updates by email and other outreach channels as implementation begins. She asked commissioners to offer suggestions about the kinds of updates they would find most useful.
Commissioners did not take formal action; the presentation served as a closeout of grant-funded planning and an announcement of next steps toward implementation.
