Superintendent highlights Navajo Family Night hosted by Native American Education Program

Superintendent Dr. Wilson told the governing board that the district’s Native American Education Program hosted a Navajo Family Night on Thursday, Aug. 21, featuring cultural presentations, student performances, interactive stations on weaving, language and history, and a traditional dinner of Navajo tacos (fry bread).
“For more than 15 years, the Native American Education Program has helped strengthen authentic connection with our communities,” Dr. Wilson said, noting that the event connects families with resources and invites families into the schools.
The superintendent’s report included photographs from the event that were displayed during the presentation. Dr. Wilson closed her report by encouraging board members and community members to attend future events hosted by the program.
No formal board action was taken as part of the superintendent’s report; it was delivered as an informational update.
