Eric Eidland, station planning manager with City DOT, told the Downtown Parking Board that staff has selected a preferred, at‑grade alternative for the Diridon Station project and will move that concept into environmental review.
The preferred concept keeps the historic depot in place while regrading adjacent areas to create a new concourse and passenger level below parts of the existing grade. “It’s obviously a very big and long‑term project, so it’s not gonna be cheap or inexpensive, but we’re trying to get the best value possible,” Eidland said during the meeting.
