The Boise Airport Commission heard a detailed briefing Sept. 3 on Passenger Facility Charges (PFCs), the locally administered fee airports levy per ticket to fund terminal projects, noise programs and debt service.
Kathleen Watkins, deputy director of finance and business, told the commission that PFCs are currently collected at $4.50 for the first two segments of a trip and that the airlines remit collections monthly, retaining 11 cents per ticket. Watkins said Boise collects about $9 million per year in PFC revenue and holds a total collection authority of $157 million since the program began in 1994.
