The Sarasota County Commission on Aug. 27 approved an unsolicited proposal and related agreements to advance the Minnesota (Manasota) Beach Road extension under Florida Statute 336.71, adding the project to the countys capital improvement program and appropriating funds to begin design and permitting.
The board voted unanimously to: (a) find the unsolicited proposal satisfied statutory criteria, (b) amend the fiscal 2025-29 CIP to add the Minnesota Beach Road Extension West project, (c) adopt a budget amendment to appropriate up to $15,000,000 from South District road impact/mobility fee funds for the project, and (d) approve the proposed agreement with the Economic Stimulus Working Group (ESWG) for design, permitting and construction of the public segments under the not-to-exceed amount.
