County staff explained several specific edits during the discussion: the Aging/ADRC advisory committee language was revised to reflect a seven-member requirement and to enumerate required member types (including older individuals and at least one adult with a disability) to bring the county into statutory compliance; the ADRC wording was clarified so the community and health services committee no longer must supply a board member for that advisory panel; the Board of Adjustments entry was adjusted so county board members may serve (staff said there is no statutory prohibition); and several committees and councils were added to the appendix for completeness, including the Criminal Justice Coordinating Committee, Land Information Council and LEPC, with statutory citations added where applicable.
Staff and supervisors noted practical considerations: some outside boards meet infrequently or by Zoom, some seats are citizen appointments handled separately from county-board appointments, and some committees require different appointment pathways (administrator appointment with subsequent board confirmation). Committee members also clarified that public works would be listed as having oversight responsibility for long-range facilities planning, per a separate resolution the committee discussed adding to the appendix.
After discussion, the committee voted to forward the amended Appendix A and related appointment recommendations to the full county board for approval. The motion carried; the transcript does not record a roll-call tally or the name of the motion mover.
